Dal Khichadi


Time :  

15 Minutes,
Serves for 2. 

Ingredients:

1) 1 and ½ cup Kolam rice
2) ¾ cup tur dal
3) ¾ cup moong dal
4) Green Pease
5) Beans
6) 1 chopped onion 
7) Turmeric Powder
8) 7-8 Curry Leaves
9)  Ginger Garlic paste
10) ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
11) ½ tsp Mustard seeds
12) Pinch of asafoetida
13) 2 red chillies
14) 1 Green Chilly
15) Red chilli powder 
16) 2 tsp ghee
17) 2 Bay leaves
18) Coriander Leaves
19) Salt as per taste


Method:

Mix rice and all dal together wash and drain and keep aside for ½ hour.

Heat ghee in pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, bay leaves, red chilli, chopped green chillies, chopped onion and ginger garlic paste fry until  onion get transferant.

Add mixture of rice and dal and stir it well.

Add vegetables like green pease, beans and stir it.

Once rice become dry add hot water, salt and masala.

Close the lid and cook till 3 whistles are given out.

Open the lid when pressure reduces completely.

Serve hot with ghee.
