Varhadi Khichadi

Serves for 2.


For Khichadi:
1) 2 cups rice 
2) 1 cup Toor Dal 
3) 5-6  Garlic Cloves
4) 1 Cup Oil  
5) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
6) Salt 
7) Coriander Leaves  

For Tadka(Tempering):

1) 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
2) 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
3) 2 pinch of hing
4) 4-5 dry red chillies
5) 4-5 chopped garlic cloves
6) Fried papad


Wash rice and toor dal.

Boil 6 cup of water, add turmeric powder, salt and chopped garlic once it boiled add rice and toor dal.

Pressure cook until 3 whistle and cook khichadi.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.

Then add hing, Cumin seeds, garlic cloves.

Saute till garlic become brown in colour.

Turn off the heat and keep aside.

While serving, take khichidi in serving plate, crumble and mix fried mirchi and papad.

And add little tadka, mix well and eat hot.
