Vada Bhat

Serves for 2

Ingredients For Vada

1) ¼ cup chana dal
2) 2-3 tbsp Mataki dal
3) 2 tbsp urad dal
4) 2 tbsp Tovar dal
5) 2 tbsp Masoor dal   
6) 2 tbsp mung dal  
7) 7-8 Garlic Cloves
8) Turmeric Powder
9)  7-8 Green Chillies
10) Cumin Seeds
11) Salt as per taste

Ingredients for Rice

1) 1 Cup Basmati Rice
2) 1 and ½ cup Water
3) Salt as per taste

Ingredients for Tempering:

1) Oil
2) ½ tsp cumin seeds
3) ½ tsp Mustard seeds
4) Pinch of Asafoetida(hing)
5) 2 Red Chilies

Method:

For Vada:

Soak all dal together for 3 hours.


After 3 hours drain all water for dal.

Put all dal into a mixer.

Add cumin seeds, green chillies, garlic cloves and salt.

Griand without adding water.


Heat oil into kadai.   Add Coriander leaves to above mixture mix well and
fry vadas into heated oil.




For Rice:
.
Wash rice.  Add water and salt.  Pressure cook for 3 whistles.




For Tempering:

Add Oil into a small kadai. Once oil heat add mustard seeds,  hing, cumin seeds, and broken red chillies.


For Serving:

Serve the cooked rice into serving plates. Also serve 3-4 vadas .

Crumble and sprinkle over rice .

Add hot tadka as required.
