Ingredients:
1) 2 Cup
Basmati Rice
2) 3 and ½
Cup water
3) Turmeric
Powder
4) 1
medium sized Onion
5) 2 Cup
Chopped Fenugreek Leaves (Methi)
6) 8-10
chopped garlic
7) Salt as
required
For
Tempering:
1) 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
2) 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds
3) 1 pinch
asafoetida
4) 7-8
Curry Leaves
5) 3 tbs
oil
Dry Spices
powders:
1) 1/4 tsp
red chili powder
2) 1/4 tsp
garam masala powder
3) 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds powder
4) 1 tsp
coriander powder
Method:
Wash and
soak rice for 30 minutes.
Boil water
and add salt and soaked rice and stir it.
Keep a lid
and cook for 10 minutes on low medium heat.
Once rice
is done keep aside.
In a pan
add oil mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves.
Once
mustard seeds get crackle add all whole spices.
Fry for a
minute.
Add the
sliced onion and chopped garlic and fry till they are browned.
Add garam
masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and saute for a
minute.
Add chopped fenugeek on it done Add rice and stir it for 4-5 minutes.
In serving
bowl take rice garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot
with raita.
